Trusted Transitions – Fiona Hill
Fiona Hill believes that any overwhelming situation can be managed with a combination of listening, laughter…and lists. Faced with the task of moving a family member into a retirement residence and dealing with all the details of selling the home and deciding what to do with every little thing inside it, she pulled out her organizational skills, her clipboard and her patience. And dug in. Two things struck her as she waded through the details – “There must be a better way to do this” and “This is kind of fun!”
“I had an “ah ha!” moment when I realized that there are many, many people who need help downsizing and managing a move to a seniors’s residence, or dealing with the estate of someone dear. I knew that I could use my organizational and people skills to ease the stress of these transitions, by taking some of the burden from their shoulders.”
Fiona has a passion for helping people choose a better quality of life. She has spent 15 years managing health food stores in Oakville, Burlington and Dundas. Her gift is an ability to listen to each client’s unique concerns, and to find solutions that are tailor-made for that person. Fiona builds strong relationships with her customers, and they in turn appreciate her interest in them as an individual, her integrity and her sense of humour.
Fiona is a long-time active member of North Burlington Baptist Church and has recently begun to lead a ministry aimed at both physical and spiritual health. She loves to ballroom and Latin dance with her husband, Phil, and is learning to speak Spanish (and already speaks French). She enjoys public speaking and frequently offers her expertise to local community groups and churches.
