Trusted Transitions – Sister Nancy Sullivan

“My mother moved into a local retirement home from the home she had built with my father fifty-four years ago. Although all five of her children assisted with the move, I was amazed at the amount of detailed work required to make her transition as smooth as it was. I began to think of all the seniors who are not blessed with children who are available to prepare and assist their parent(s).”

Sister Nancy’s background includes a Bachelor of Commerce degree as well as a Masters degree in Health Administration. Currently she is enrolled in the Gerontology Program at Mohawk College. She has held various positions in the field of health care human resources management. Recently, Sister Nancy returned from an extensive period of time in a mission in Jamaica serving the needs of the people there.

“I had wanted to assist seniors in a community setting and this ministry is a perfect way to do this. Helping a person to make a big shift in their life in the least traumatic way possible is my goal.”

As a member of the Sisters of St. Joseph of Hamilton, Sister Nancy is involved in a number of endeavors in the community.
